The potager is an extravagance as we found we could not bring ourselves to harvest it and now have a production area elsewhere which provides the vegetables for the house. It is a fusion of vegetables, annuals, perennials and tender perennials made up of some 2500 plants which are allowed to bolt or flower to create interesting effects. We draw up a new planting design each year but it always looks it best from mid July to October, peaking in August/September.
