​The Stables Visitor Centre Events

Saturday 7 October 10.30 – 12.30pm

Family Adventure Club – family event (bookable – FREE)

Outdoor club for the whole family. Enjoy the woodlands, gardens and coastline of Cambo as a family. Fun outdoor taster activities for Mums, Grannies, Dads, Carers and kids to enjoy together. Come and share your ideas with us and be the first to see in side our new Visitor Centre! Pilot activity – if successful we will run a full family adventure club programme. Saturday 7 October 1pm – 2.30pm

Kids Adventure Club (bookable – FREE)

Kids only Group – outdoor club for kids age 6 upwards.

(Parents can enjoy free entry to the gardens throughout afternoon and an exclusive tour of our new visitor centre and learning hub before the official opening on Mom 9th).

Bring your wellies and water proofs for outdoor forest fun! Come and share your ideas with us and be the first to see in side our new Visitor Centre!


Monday 9 October: Drop in 12 – 4pm.

SAY HELLO – APPLES GALORE! – family event, (drop in – FREE)

The Cambo Apple gala! Grand opening of the Stables Visitor Centre!

Apples galore! Apple pressing, apple juice, apple crafts, apple tours and even Cambo apple ice cream made exclusively by Janettas to celebrate the opening of the Stables Visitor Centre.


Tuesday 10 October 1.30pm

Edible Gardens Tour: Drop in

A harvest time walk and talk with Deputy Head Gardener Fay McKenzie through our Edible Garden (approx. 1 hour) – finish off at the café to warm up, then enjoy our new visitor centre exhibition.


Thursday 12 October 1.30pm

Edible Gardens Tour: Drop in

A harvest time walk round and talk with Edible Gardeners Diane and Liz through our Edible Garden (approx. 1 hour) – finish off at the café to warm up, then enjoy our new visitor centre exhibition.


Friday 13 October: 1pm, 3pm, 6pm

Foraging Day and Evening Talk with forager Monica Wilde (Bookable events)

Forage around the woods 1-3pm then 3-5pm.

Evening Talk and tasting demo (lasts approx 1 hour)

Seasonal focus on seeds, fruits, fungi and anything else happened upon in the woods!

Sunday 15 October: Free, drop in 12 – 3pm

Celebrating Multiculturalism through Harvest- hosted by Bi- lingual Families in Fife

Celebration of Harvest traditions around the world, food tasters from around the world, children’s stories and world music.


Monday 16 October Free, drop in 12 – 3pm

Nature Art workshop

Family friendly art event to celebrate Big Draw month. Stables Studio and around the Prairie. Creative activities with seasonal natural materials.


Tuesday 17 October: Free, drop in, 1.30pm

Prairie Tour – Guided walk and talk with Head Gardener Elliot.

Come and discover the North American Prairie with Head Gardener Elliot Forsyth (tour lasts approx. 1 hour).

Artist Susan Forsythe will be painting this beautiful area between 1-4pm, so come and watch her work and have a chat!


Wednesday 18 October: drop in 12 – 3pm

Nature Art workshop

Thursday 17 October: free, bookable 4.30 – 6.30pm

Design and Maintenance of the North American Prairie Garden - with Head Gardener Elliot Forsyth.

Join us for an early evening talk with our Head Gardener Elliot Forsythe to discuss the Design and Maintenance of The North American Prairie Garden. Meeting in front of The Stables at 4.30pm and talk lasts approx. 2 hours.

Friday 20 October: free, drop in 12 – 3pm

Livng lines in the Prairie

Big Draw Event with artist Judith Heald: Come and join us around the North American Prairie to draw and explore ‘living lines’ with artist Judith Heald using natural inks from berries and willow from Cambo. All ages and abilities welcome!


Sunday 5 November: bookable, 4pm – 7pm

Cambo Family bonfire party

A firework free family friendly bonfire party! Join us for traditional guy making, homegrown toffee apples and a twinkly walk through the walled garden to our secret bonfire. Places limited, Free but bookable. With warming snacks on hand from nosebag café.
