FIFE DIAMOND GARDEN FESTIVAL 18 – 20 MAY 2012

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Diamond Jubilee in June 2012 and in honour of this event Scotland’s Gardens Fife District is holding a garden festival, The Fife Diamond Garden Festival, over the weekend of 18 – 20 MayWe have a magnificent mix of gardens for your enjoyment, stretching from the Forth to the Tay. Some are grand, some informal, some are centuries old and full of history, some newly hewn from the barren ground, some in exposed locations with magnificent views, others hidden from sight behind busy town streets. Each one is individual, and a garden gem in its own way. Several have never been open to the public before, making this a particularly exciting opportunity. Be

The official opening of the Garden Festival will take place at Cambo House, Kingsbarns on Friday 18 May with a walkabout in the Cambo Walled Garden. On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20May eleven other gardens will be open from 11.00am to 5.00pm each day.Participating gardens: Barham, Cambo House, Glassmount House, Micklegarth,

The Murrel, Newton Barns, Newton Mains, Rosewells, 46 South Street St Andrews, St Leonards School & the Headmaster’s Garden, Strathmore Cottage and Teasses

Homemade teas will be available in St Andrews from 2.00 – 5.00pm at 46 South Street on Saturday 18 May, and in the grounds of St Leonards School on Sunday 19 May.

Proceeds from The Fife Diamond Garden Festival will go to Scotland’s Gardens’ Charities and AICR, the Association for International Cancer Research. AICR supports best basic cancer research worldwide and is a Fife Charity, based at Madras Lodge in St Andrews.

Opening times - Cambo House: Friday 18 May 1:00pm – 5:00pm                Other gardens: Saturday 19 May and Sunday 20 May 11:00am – 5:00pm

Admission - £20 for all gardens, children under the age of 16 free. Limited number of tickets only available in advance from  this website or by cheque payable to Scotland’s Gardens from S.
